Why clean the engine lubrication system?
For car maintenance, is one of the daily work of all owners, but many owners pay attention to the external maintenance of the car, ignoring the internal maintenance of the car.
Among them, the cleaning of the engine lubrication system is one of the maintenance items most easily ignored by the owner.
So what does an engine lubrication system consist of? Why wash? When should it be cleaned?
Follow Master Bang to learn about it!
01
What is the lubrication system of the engine?
The lubrication system of the engine refers to the oil pipeline composed of oil filter, oil pan, oil pump, oil pipe and other components.
The lubrication system will continuously supply clean and quantitative lubricating oil to the friction surface of each moving part, playing the role of lubrication, cleaning, cooling, sealing, rust prevention and buffering.
02
Why clean the lubrication system?
During the operation of the engine, because the oil in the lubrication system is in a high temperature and high pressure state for a long time, the dust and metal particles entering the crankcase, coupled with impurities such as gasoline and water, are very easy to generate deposits such as mud and gum.
These deposits adhere to the inner surface of the lubrication system, affecting the normal flow of lubricating oil, but also accelerate the deterioration of lubricating oil, resulting in increased wear on the surface of the friction pair.
Resulting in engine power reduction, increased noise, increased fuel consumption, affecting engine life.
Although regular oil changes can remove some impurities, there may still be residues in the system.
After the new oil is added, it quickly merges with mud, forming new mud and other debris, which will also cause blockage of the lubrication system and affect the operation of the engine.
Therefore, cleaning the lubrication system is very important.
03
How often is the lubrication system cleaned?
Generally speaking, the car is cleaned once every 20,000 kilometers or so.
Of course, the cleaning cycle of the lubrication system has a great relationship with the oil used. If the long-term use of mineral oil, semi-synthetic oil, should be appropriate to shorten the cleaning cycle.
Because synthetic oil has a better cleaning effect on the sludge of the lubrication system, if it is a long-term use of synthetic oil, and regularly replace the oil and oil filter, it can greatly extend the cleaning cycle of the lubrication system, even without regular cleaning.
Such as the choice of Nippon synthetic oil, its own cleaning ability and antioxidant performance, energy-saving, cleaner and lower carbon, excellent wear resistance, can better protect the engine, timing chain wear, to better protect the car.
