Engine wear causes summary!
Engine wear is an unavoidable problem in every vehicle.
According to the service life of the vehicle, the engine wear can be divided into three stages, which are the engine running-in wear stage, natural wear stage and collapse wear stage.
1 Engine running-in wear stage
As the name suggests, run-in wear refers to the run-in stage of various parts of a new car. Although the new car has been run in when the factory, but the surface of the parts is still relatively rough, the running-in of the new car can improve the ability of the car components to adapt to the environment.
It should be noted that during running-in there will be some small metal particles fall off, these metal particles will affect the lubrication effect of lubricating oil between parts, increase fuel consumption, and need to be removed in time.
2 Natural wear stage
The wear of the natural wear stage is slight, the wear rate is low and relatively stable.
After the running-in period of auto parts, the wear rate will be slowed down, which is also the normal use period of the engine, and regular maintenance can be done.
3 Breakdown wear stage
When the vehicle is used for a certain number of years, the natural wear reaches the limit, at this time the gap between the engine components increases, the protection effect of the lubricating oil becomes worse, resulting in increased wear between the parts, the accuracy of the parts transfer decreases, and the noise and vibration occur, which indicates that the parts are about to lose their working ability, and the vehicle needs to be overhauled or scrapped.
What causes engine wear?
1 Dust wear
When the engine does work, it needs to inhale air, and the dust in the air will also be inhaled, even if there is still some dust that will enter the engine after the air filter.
Even with lubricants, this dust particle wear is not easy to eliminate.
2 Corrosion wear
After the engine stops running, it cools from high temperature to low temperature. In this process, the gas with higher temperature inside the engine condenses into water droplets when it encounters the metal wall with lower temperature, and long-term accumulation will seriously corrode the metal parts in the engine.
3 Corrosion wear
When the fuel is burned, many harmful substances will be produced, which will not only corrode the cylinder, but also cause corrosion to other parts of the engine such as cams and crankshafts.
4 Cold start wear
Engine wear is mostly caused by cold start, the car engine stops for four hours, all the lubricating oil on the friction interface will return to the oil pan.
Start the engine at this time, the speed has been more than 1000 revolutions within 6 seconds, at this time if the use of ordinary lubricating oil, the oil pump can not hit the lubricating oil to various parts in time. In a short period of time, dry friction with periodic loss of lubrication will occur, resulting in severe and abnormal strong wear of the engine, which is irreversible.
5 Normal wear
All parts that are in contact with each other will inevitably have friction, resulting in wear. This is also one of the reasons why the oil needs to be changed frequently.
